Libraryman)<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.davidleeking.com\/\">David Lee King<\/a>, the video is a foot-tapping, library-rocking tour-de-force.\u00a0 Clear the next eight minutes in your schedule, put on some headphones, and enjoy:<\/p>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=gVq5WDDA5a4&#038;fmt=18\">http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=gVq5WDDA5a4&amp;fmt=18<\/a>\n<p>The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.libraryman.com\/library101\/\"><strong>Library 101 website<\/strong><\/a> not only has the video, but also a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.libraryman.com\/blog\/essays-on-101\/\">collection of essays by prominent library supporters<\/a>, as well as a &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.libraryman.com\/blog\/101rtk\/\">101 Resources and Things to Know<\/a>&#8221; page that provides a great overview of just what they are striving to communicate.<\/p>\n<p>To settle any bar bets, as well as disclose a connection:\u00a0 I am in the video.\u00a0 I first appear at the 30 second mark (though all you see is my arm and notebook computer), but show up later in full frame.<\/p>\n<p>My using the computer for the &#8220;1&#8221; and &#8220;0&#8221; was the solution to a problem:\u00a0 when the call went out for pictures of library people holding sheets of paper containing the magic numbers, I was on vacation in Branson, Missouri.\u00a0 No printer.\u00a0 I could probably have found a Kinkos, but it wouldn&#8217;t have gone over well with my family because, you see, I was on vacation.\u00a0 Drawing the numbers might have worked for someone with artistic talent; not for me.<\/p>\n<p>I really like my idea of using the computer&#8230; it fits the theme of the video:<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-3205\" title=\"Library101-0\" src=\"http:\/\/www.libology.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/10\/Library101-01-300x205.jpg\" alt=\"Library101-0\" width=\"300\" height=\"205\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.libology.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/10\/Library101-01-300x205.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.libology.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/10\/Library101-01.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-3208\" title=\"Library101-1\" src=\"http:\/\/www.libology.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/10\/Library101-11-300x188.jpg\" alt=\"Library101-1\" width=\"300\" height=\"188\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.libology.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/10\/Library101-11-300x188.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.libology.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/10\/Library101-11.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>So, I hope you watched and enjoyed the video&#8230; Michael and David deserve some serious positive feedback for their ideas and efforts.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Library 101 video debuted today at the Internet Librarian conference.\u00a0 Created by Michael Porter (a.k.a.
