If the current law cannot allow for orphan works to be used through some process (what we have now is a <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Catch-22_%28logic%29\">Catch-22<\/a>), then these works aren&#8217;t benefiting anyone.<\/p>\n<p>Here is a <a href=\"http:\/\/news.com.com\/Court+upholds+copyright+law+on+orphan+works\/2100-1028_3-6152344.html\">news article<\/a> on the topic; here is the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ca9.uscourts.gov\/ca9\/newopinions.nsf\/1FABEA163F4C714A8825726B005A12F0\/%24file\/0417434.pdf\">court opinion<\/a> (pdf).<\/p>\n<p>side note:  I would worry about congress revisiting copyright law, too.  I suspect that the major media corporations would make it their top priority to shift the law in their favor, which might do much more harm than good.
