{"id":1932,"date":"2006-12-08T14:46:09","date_gmt":"2006-12-08T19:46:09","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blog.librarysupportstaff.org\/?p=177"},"modified":"2006-12-08T14:46:09","modified_gmt":"2006-12-08T19:46:09","slug":"update-on-epa-library-issue","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.libology.com\/blog\/2006\/12\/08\/update-on-epa-library-issue.html","title":{"rendered":"Update on EPA library issue"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>As an update to <a href=\"http:\/\/blog.librarysupportstaff.org\/?p=158\">this post<\/a>, it seems that the situation with the EPA library is <a href=\"http:\/\/www.peer.org\/news\/news_id.php?row_id=791\">getting worse<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Presumably in response to a congressional request to halt the closure of its libraries, the EPA is removing thousands of documents from its web servers, and has sold $40,000 worth of library furniture in their Chicago library for a total of $350.  The woman who bought the furniture is estimating that she will re-sell it for $80,000 (perhaps when the EPA changes course again and buys its own furniture back).<\/p>\n<p>(Darn!
