Hey, I'll refund *twice* the annual subscription to Walt at Random. I'm bemused that, for a couple of recent proliferating posts (this one and the "99 things" one), people seem to have picked them up from my 'umble little blog rather than any of those I picked them up from.

I'm grateful, though. The result: Temporarily, I'm back in the top 100,000 at Technorati. That won't last, to be sure. (And since I don't run ads at this point, the benefit is only to increase my hat size a little more.)

Are we ready? We in the Evergreen community were born ready! This is a great time to be contemplating resource-sharing at mass scale -- and Evergreen has been about consortial/resource-sharing since its inception.

Note that Open-ILS was the early project name, but it's Evergreen now. The website for the project is evergreen-ils.org. Check us out! (The old name still works, of course.)

Sorry, it was relatively informal research. We went to a variety of sites running different repository systems and tried them out. I remember that we were impressed by the variety of collections served by DSpace sites; I also liked the customization of a couple of sites I visited (I tried to find those again, but couldn't remember which).
